The home side finally put the game beyond doubt in the 82nd minute, when Mbappe scored a brilliant solo goal to make it 2-0. The French international picked up the ball just inside the Lyon half and ran at the defence, before cutting inside and curling a shot into the far corner of the net.

Lyon tried to mount a late comeback, but it was too little too late, and PSG held on for a crucial victory.
